On August 29th, 2014, I Alberto Pintos will start my second trip to Santiago de Compostela, Known as The Way of St. James or El Camino deSantiago. Last year (2013) I did the way Known as The Camino Francesor French Route, starting at St. Jean de Pied du Port in France and after crossing the Pyrenees, on Spanish soil to the city of Santiago de Compostela, a pilgrimage that took me 30 days and a total of about 800Km to complete. It was my first time attempting to master the physical and mental strength that an adventure like that requires. At the end, I realizedthat it was a little bit easier than I expected to be. Since I am past my retirement age, and my 65th birthday isalso behind me, I've decided to take on this challenge once again. This time however the goal is to raise funds for the Mackenzie Health Vaughan Hospital. I know that everybody is bombarded by requests of support toall different and very worthwhile causes, but I feel that whatever you and Ican do no matter how big or small will bring them one step closer to the construction stage. My commitment this time is to walk from Seville (Spain) to Santiago de Compostela (Spain), a distance of approximately 1000Km in about 38days. The idea is that you sponsor my walk with a donation in support of the hospital. Please be assured that every single dollar raised willbe donated to the hospital. I will pay for the entire trip with my own money and that will be my contribution to the fund. I am not doing this as a religious pilgrimage, therefore Iappeal to all my friends, brothers and colleagues to contribute to make this a successful fundraising.
